The construction works during the first phase of the Tummers new building project are progressing steadily. This second construction update describes which activities have taken place recently and what the planning for the period coming up looks like.
Construction update #2: Expansion machine shop
Expanding
Now that the construction of our new workshop has started, we are also expanding our machine shop. In addition to the renovation of its independent office space, the construction of a separate laundry room and the construction of a storage facilty, its machinery park will also expand. In addition, space has been made available for our metal saw mills, which will move to here from our current workshop later.
Shorter delevery time
Our machine park will increase to 4 milling machines and 5 lathes, by which our production capacity will increase significantly. After the expansion of our machine shop a total of 5 of these 9 machines are CNC controlled and will do their work on the basis of a pre-set program. Because the new warehouse offers more than enough storage space, the delivery time for serial products will be shortened.
Fully automatic
CNC machines work fully automatically on the basis of a computer program. They therefore also work more reliably, faster and more accurate than conventional, manually operated equipment. In the future, we will only use the conventional machines to provide assistance when needed. Our CNC milling machines and lathes can be used for all available products, including the production of knife blocks for our cutting lines.
