Tummers businesscase partner of first newton room in the Netherlands at AM&TS in Hoogerheide

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, the first Newton Room in the Netherlands was officially opened at the Aircraft Maintenance & Training School (AM&TS) in Hoogerheide, North Brabant! This initiative by First Scandinavia, Boeing, and AM&TS provides an inspiring and hands-on learning environment for children. It’s a valuable addition to the technical sector, to which Tummers will contribute significantly as an evaluation and businesscase partner.

A pop-up classroom that stood in the parking lot of Aviolanda in Hoogerheide for three weeks at the end of 2021 proved to be a huge hit among students. Within a few days, the mobile Newton Room was fully booked, foreshadowing future demand. Now, the first permanent Newton Room in the Netherlands has opened its doors at AM&TS in Hoogerheide.

Careers in STEM
The Newton Room is a practical learning environment for primary and secondary school children. The concept was developed by Norway’s FIRST Scandinavia and has been brought to the Netherlands in collaboration with Boeing and AM&TS. It features three flight simulators, a laboratory, a multifunctional learning space, and an auditorium where children are introduced to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) through interactive learning modules.

As a technical company based in the same region, Tummers has eagerly partnered with AM&TS and the Newton Room initiative. By sparking enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at a young age, Tummers hopes that many future technicians will find their way to the company. In collaboration with AM&TS, BOM, and other partners, Tummers will work on the Evaluation & Development for the Newton Room. This is a creative project that aims to lay a solid foundation for the future of technology!
